‘570’ gets censor nod

The long-awaited feature film ‘570’ has been released after considerable anticipation. This film depicts the events that occurred in the 36 hours following the death of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation, and most of his family members on August 15, 1975.

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman lived in house number 10 on Road 32 in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi area. He was killed on August 15, 1975. Some family members were killed. Sheikh Mujib’s body was airlifted by a military unit to his ancestral home and interred there. The film 570 is based on the main biographies of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, focusing on the 36 hours between his death and burial.

As of August 2019, pre-production had begun on 570 films. The factual screenplay was primarily based on the testimonies and crucial facts from the Bangabandhu assassination case filed in 1996. Permission must be obtained from the Bangabandhu Memorial Trust to accurately depict history and faithfully represent Sheikh Mujib’s appearance in the video. In addition, army and police observations were used to ensure an accurate portrayal of the army and police officers in terms of attire, rank, and title.

After a six-month wait, the feature film ‘570’ was certified for release by the Bangladesh Film Censor Board (BFCB) on February 11th. This paves the way for revealing untold stories from a dark period in the nation’s history.

Sham Islam and Joytsna Islam have collaborated to create the film under the Cinebuzz Films production company. Ashraf Shishir, a director who has won national awards, made the movie by crafting the story, dialogue, and screenplay.

The cast, featuring prominent cinema actor Bappy Chowdhury, the late Masum Aziz, Shadhin Khasru, Kazi Raju, Sumna Shoma, Sujat Shimul, and others, portrayed 570 characters.

The film was edited by Sabbir Mahmood and Samiul Alam Swapna, with Samar Dhali as the key cinematographer and Rafayet Newaz as the music composer. The visual effects were produced at VFX-Toon Studio. The media provided technical support in Bangladesh, while Toni Suvonkor and Farid Ahmed were responsible for art direction, and Zannat-e-Tahera Mouri handled costume design.

Mizan Rahman, a renowned band singer and former lead vocalist of Warfez, sang the 570 theme song that director Ashraf Shishir composed.
