Tigers prepare for World Cup with tri-series in New Zealand

Sports desk, dhaka:

Bangladesh will play a tri-nation series in New Zealand to prepare for the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia in October. Runners-up New Zealand are expected to play hosts in the latest World Cup. The other opponent will be Pakistan.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Cricket Operations Chairman Jalal Yunus confirmed the matter. He told the media in Chittagong on April 18 that there would be no need to camp separately for the T20 World Cup as the team was playing.

Jalal Yunus said, “We have a lot of T20 matches before the World Cup. We will play more than 18 matches, much more. That’s why you don’t have to camp separately before the World Cup. But before the World Cup, there will be a small camp in Adelaide. ‘

“I will play a tri-nation series in New Zealand, God willing,” he said of the New Zealand tour. After Eid, the team will go to New Zealand after practicing for 7-8 days. The matches are more likely to be in Christchurch. The rest of the team will probably be Pakistan along with New Zealand.

Bangladesh has very little experience playing in Australia. However, Bangladesh regularly plays the series in New Zealand. New Zealand’s conditions are very similar to Australia’s. The tour can therefore be important for the team. The team did not do well in the T20 World Cup held in UAE and Oman last year. Despite having a hard time qualifying, they could not win any match in the main round.
