Tea Exchange

An exclusive tea-tasting event was held at the Dhaka Gulshan Club on January 30th, 2024, organised by the London Tea Exchange. The guest list included esteemed individuals such as the director of the Bangladesh Tea Board, the Spanish High Commissioner, representatives from various NGOs, and two London Borough Civic Mayors, Cllr Jyotsna Islam and her Consort Cllr Sham Islam (Redbridge), along with Barking and Dagenham Cllr Donna Lumsden.

Aliur Rahman, OBE, the Chief Executive Officer of the London Tea Exchange, was present at the tea-tasting event and provided in-depth knowledge about the origin and authenticity of each tea.

The tea-tasting event was captivating, and the attendees found the experience instructive and enjoyable. We want to congratulate Mr. Aliur and his team for embarking on such a bold journey. We wish them every success in their endeavours.

The London Tea Exchange supports the implementation of a standardised pay scale for workers through partnerships with charitable organisations and governments. They have been tirelessly striving to ensure fair wages for workers across the globe. Since their campaign began, they have secured a 47% wage increase. Their current objective is to implement policies that promote fair wages in tea-producing nations, with the backing of the respective governments.

The London Tea Exchange is excited to announce the opening of its first branch in Bangladesh at the Grand Sylhet Hotel on February 3rd, 2024. We wholeheartedly congratulate Mr. Aliur Rahman and his team.
