Eid celebrations are not complete without costumes. People usually travel to different places to meet their loved ones on this day. New clothes and outfits are a common sight, and colourful attires add to the vibrancy of the occasion. How you dress for Eid depends on the region, climate, and culture you are in. Some clothes that are acceptable in the city may not be suitable for the country or Bangladesh.
Similarly, the attire for winter and summer is also different. Even minor weather changes can affect the dressing style. Generally, dressing for Eid can be divided into three parts- morning, midday, and evening.
Morning makeover
On the day of Eid, it is customary to wake up early when the temperature is cooler. If you plan on dressing up only for the morning, wearing a beautiful dress is fine. However, if you want to stay in the same outfit until noon, it’s better to wear something comfortable like cotton or any soft fabric. You can wear a three-piece suit, kurta, or a comfortable saree. Your morning attire should be as delicate and lovely as the morning itself. Your outfit for the Eid festival should be appropriate – not too formal or casual. You can leave your hair uncombed since it won’t be too hot in the morning.
Afternoon makeover
It’s common to wear afternoon attire until the afternoon, but since Eid is during the summer, it’s best to dress lightly to avoid overheating. Choose cooler colours for your clothing. Avoid wearing heavy clothing that can make you feel too warm. Instead, use foundation powder that matches your complexion. Lightly coloured blazers are acceptable. Applying kajal to your eyes will make you look stunning in lighter attire. Darker or lighter shades of lipstick can be worn. If the sun is hot, apply sunscreen. Keep your hair secured to prevent it from getting too warm. If you prefer, flowers can be crushed.
Night makeover
The night during the Eid festival is mildly warm, so there’s no need to worry about the sun. You can wear attractive night attire like Lehenga, saree, or any other formal dress. You can also do stylish nighttime makeup using constituents that complement your skin tones, such as bright blush and dark or light-coloured lipsticks. Additionally, you can enhance your overall look by styling your hair to complement your outfit.
Regarding clothing choices, girls have just as many options as boys. On the morning of Eid, it’s common for boys to wear a Punjabi outfit. A comfortable Punjabi outfit can be worn and paired with fragrance for the morning and afternoon. Blouses, T-shirts, and trousers are suitable in the afternoon and evening. Regardless of the outfit choice, comfort and breathability should be a priority.
