BCA holds its 15th awards night and celebrates its 60 years of service.

The fifteenth edition of the Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) Awards night was held at a glamourous event recently with the aim of recognising the achievements of outstanding restaurants and talented chefs in the British curry industry.

The celebration was a part of the Diamond Anniversary celebration of BCA to mark 60 years of service of the largest organisation in the curry industry that represents 12000 British-Bangladeshi restaurants and takeaways in Britain.

11 ‘Curry House’ awards and 12 ‘Chef of the Year’ awards were handed over to the recipients at a glittering event at the O2 Intercontinental in London. Besides, three people from the community received Honourary Awards for their contributions.

At the beginning of the ceremony, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson delivered a video message congratulating the BCA on the occasion of the diamond jubilee.

Labour Party leader Keir Starmer, Minister for London Paul Scully, Member of Parliament Apsana Begum, Deputy Mayor of Redbridge Councillor Jyotsna Islam, Councillor from Fullwell ward Sham Islam, Former BCA president Khandaker Mbe, UKBCCI Chairman Iqbal Ahmed, CEO of ION TV Ataullah Faruk, Councillor Callum Knowles; (the mayor of the borough of Ashford and Kent), Councillor Henna Chowdhury and Councillor Rita Begum were present at the event, among others.

BCA President MA Munim, Senior vice-president Oli Khan Mbe, Vice-President Syed Hasan, General Secretary Mitu Chowdhury, Press and Publication Secretary Forhad Hussain Tipu and other members were also present at the function.
