Bangladesh match in Champions Trophy

After eight long years, the ICC Champions Trophy is returning. Now, the tournament is going to be in Pakistan. Eight teams will participate in the 2025 Champions Trophy.

The eight nations participating in the upcoming Champions Trophy were finalised amid India’s last ODI World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has prepared a draft schedule for the group, as well as the tournament’s schedule and venue.

Bangladesh joins two archrivals, India and Pakistan, in the ‘A’ group. New Zealand is in the fourth group, along with these three Asian countries. Australia, England, Afghanistan, and South Africa are in Group ‘B’.

However, the ICC has not officially announced anything about the schedule or group stage of the tournament. However, England’s leading media outlet, The Telegraph, reported that the ICC had formally approved the 2025 Champions Trophy schedule proposed by Pakistan.

But everything in the Champions Trophy now depends on India’s will. Earlier, India refused to play in Pakistan.

If India does not go this time, the venue may change, as happened in the Asia Cup before the 2023 World Cup. The ‘hybrid model’ of the service facilitated the organisation of the Sri Lanka-Pakistan Asia Cup. However, Pakistan hopes to host the Champions Trophy in its own country.
