May 2023 marked her last appearance in the red-green jersey.
The notable absence of star Pacer Jahanara Alam was evident during the matches against India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup and World Cup. Despite spending significant time waiting, she has yet to receive a call.
However, Jahanara has now secured the opportunity to represent the country again in the upcoming Asia Cup. Impressively, she emerged as the season’s highest wicket-taker in the last women’s DPL, solidifying her position on the Sri Lanka Asia Cup team.
Despite being out of the national team for an extended period, Jahanara remained steadfast. She committed herself to being ready for any chance to return.
In a video message released by BCB, she confidently stated, “I consistently prepare myself so that I’m ready whenever the women’s team requires my services.”
When unable to train with the national team in Mirpur, Jahanara sought out the Moscow Shakib Cricket Academy near Dhaka to enhance her skills. Following coach Salahuddin’s advice, she underwent rigorous training there.
She emphasised, “During this past year, I dedicated nine months to training at the Moscow Academy, where Salahuddin and the coaching staff worked tirelessly with me.”
