As an editor, I find myself with an unprecedented challenge wherein I struggle to articulate my sentiments while attempting to compose a brief passage regarding an individual who encompassed the roles of a friend, colleague, advisor, motivator, well-wisher, and exemplar of exceptional humanity.
He possessed a deep comprehension of Bengali cinema and made noteworthy contributions to the film industry in Bangladesh. Sohanur Rahman Sohan is the most esteemed and singular film director in Bangladesh. He has directed a total of 28 films, and the majority of these films have been well-received by audiences due to their compelling storylines and high production quality.
Unfortunately, Shuhanur Rahman Shuhan and his spouse, Pia Rahman, passed away simultaneously during a short period of time. The untimely demise of the husband and wife in close succession has engendered a sombre atmosphere among their ardent supporters and across the film industry in Bangladesh.
It is indisputable that Mr. Shuhan possessed exceptional filmmaking abilities. This phenomenon is exemplified in his cinematic works, as he has played a pivotal role in facilitating the entry of numerous performers into the Bangla film business, such as Salman Shah, Mushomi, Shakib Khan, and others.
Even today, there is an ongoing discussion about his film “Qayamat to Qayamat,” which remains popular among modern audiences and significantly impacted the Bengali cinema industry upon its release.
The esteemed filmmaker Sohanur Rahman Sohan, who has achieved significant recognition in his career, exhibits exceptional organisational abilities. The loss of this individual is irreplaceable. We are here to support the Bengali film industry. We earnestly pray for the everlasting welfare of his spirit.
