BCB plans Afghan series in November

After finishing the series against India, Bangladesh will host South Africa for a two-test series in October. In December, Nazmul Shanto will travel to the West Indies to participate in two Test matches, three One-Day Internationals, and two Twenty20 Internationals. November was the only month not included in the agenda. During that timeframe, the BCB aims to involve Afghanistan in a three-match, one-day international series.

The board indicates that Bangladesh needs more one-day international matches leading up to the Champions Trophy, set for February. They plan to arrange a one-day international game with Afghanistan on their journey to the West Indies. The Afghan board participated in a meaningful discussion on this topic. The series is likely to take place in the United Arab Emirates.

In June of the previous year, Bangladesh was scheduled to face Afghanistan in a series of five matches, comprising two Test matches, three One-Day Internationals, and two Twenty20 Internationals. Unfortunately, unavoidable circumstances forced the cancellation of the series.

The two boards have decided to organise the series based on time and opportunity availability. Bangladesh looks forward to participating in that series of three one-day internationals (ODIs) in November.

Farooq Ahmed, the President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, told the media, “We are considering the option of playing three one-day internationals against Afghanistan while we are in the West Indies.” In Kuala Lumpur, we had a productive discussion on the subject.

The ACB has stated that they are currently in discussions with the BCB and are awaiting a final verdict.
