Bangladesh beat Pakistan in SAFF U-17 Championship final

Bangladesh secured a tiebreaker victory against Pakistan, winning 8-7, which allowed them to advance to the finals of the SAFF U-17 Championship and earn a place in the championship match.

During the first five shots of the tiebreaker, both teams scored five goals for a combined total of five goals. The game ended in a tie, with both teams scoring five points each. After the first two sudden death shots, both teams shared the top position. During the ninth attempt, the custodian for Bangladesh effectively prevented Pakistan from scoring. Bangladesh had a strong chance of winning the final if they successfully executed the comeback shot.

Shahab Ahmed scored a goal for Pakistan in the 32nd minute of the semifinal. Rehman followed up by successfully converting a penalty kick in the 62nd minute, thus securing the lead for Pakistan with both goals.

Manik took Rifat Kazi’s place shortly after that minute passed. In the 74th minute, Manik narrowed the gap between the two teams after receiving the ball from a teammate’s corner kick.

As a result, the Bangladesh squad demonstrated a solid determination to achieve equality.

The fourth minute of the seven added minutes determined the outcome. Manik skilfully transforms a teammate’s cross into a goal. The only team to lose in the group stage was Bangladesh, one of four that advanced to the semifinals.

After a 1-0 defeat to India, they managed to secure a 1-1 draw against the Maldives. As a result, Titu’s kids advanced to the semifinals thanks to their goal differential after the Maldives lost 3-0 to India.
