Released theatrically. Bangladeshi movies were released theatrically in the UAE as well. The American company Bioscope Films is taking this opportunity to meet the entertainment needs of the larger Bangladeshi diaspora.
This company will travel to the Emirates with the movie’surungo’ at the beginning of October. After that, the company will continuously bring Bangladeshi movies to the country.
Bioscope Media Distribution Company confirmed this through a press conference on September 23. The Big Picture is their subsidiary in the marketing of Bangladeshi films in the Middle East.
In the press conference, Bioscope Films Chief Operating Officer Shubojit Roy said, “We want to show mainly Bangladeshi films in the United Arab Emirates. That is our main purpose. Bengali movies from Calcutta and Dhaka were screened in America. But only Bangladeshi films will be brought to the Emirates.
Raj Hamid and Nausaba Rashid, two director generals of Bioscope, said that every year, two blockbuster movies are released in the country. Expatriates from America and Canada can enjoy them. But the Middle East does not have that opportunity. They are taking the initiative to show Bangladeshi films to bring entertainment to the large Bangladeshi community in the Middle East. This company is planning to release Bangladeshi films in the United Arab Emirates on the same day next year.
PV Sunil, managing director of The Big Picture, and director Rahul Kapoor were also present at the press conference. They talked about multifaceted initiatives aimed at encouraging expatriates to watch Bangladeshi movies outside the country.
