Bangladesh Centre observes Int’l Mother Language Day

International Mother Language and Martyrs’ Day were commemorated with great respect on February 22, 2024, at the London Bangladesh Centre.

The Bangladesh Centre’s General Secretary, Professor Shahidur Rahman, organized the event, and Mr. Mohibur Rahman Mohib served as the event’s chairman. A moment of silence was held in honour of the martyrs. Abdullah delivered the greeting address.

Assistant General Secretary Mohammad Shamim Ahmed. Mr. Dilal Ahmed managed the programmeme, while Mohammad Shamim Ahmed supervised the programmeme’s strategic planning, technology, IT, and media.

In the second segment, a magnificent cultural programme was held, starting with the performance of the national hymn. Ifat R. Khanam, a well-known TV presenter, actress, and vocalist from Bilet, led the artistic programme. Himanshu Goswami, Jannat E. Kawsar Leena, Jeevan, Tahir Ali, Suman Bhuiyan, Shipu, and Shiplu collaborated on the music. Simultaneously, Shri Mintu Goswami played the tabla while Suman Bhuiyan operated the keyboard.

After the programme, prayers for peace and forgiveness of the martyrs’ spirits were made, and a resolution was overwhelmingly passed, showing a strong commitment to promoting the Bangla language globally through the Bangladesh Centre.

Mohibur Rahman Mohib, the Senior Vice President of the Bangladesh Centre, gave the last remarks of the programme.
