The Pakistani Film Industry (Lollywood) is allegedly trying to revive its golden times by showcasing ‘courageous’ and controversial plots. So they have decided to produce a ‘romantic periodical film’ set against the brutal 1971 Liberation War by distorting history altogether.
The “Huey Tum Ajnabi” trailer, starring Mikaal Zulfiqar and Sadia Khan, was released on social media. Unfortunately, it is messy with poorly executed VFX-laden war scenes, making even Prabhas’ “Adipurush” VFX appear better.
The trailer showcased brief glimpses of real-life characters, including our Father of The Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi and Pakistani politician Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Pakistani actor Mehmood Ashlam portrays the role of Bangabandhu. A scene in the trailer showcases Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman telling Indira Gandhi, “Bangladesh is now all yours to control.” This scene itself insults our country’s values and disrespects Bangabandhu’s ideology.
