The British Council, the UK’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities, has announced calls for applications in its prestigious Study UK Alumni Awards to celebrate the outstanding achievements of alumni and showcase the impact and value of UK higher education.
The awards aim to celebrate UK-educated leaders who have applied their learning to make a significant difference in their workplaces, communities, and countries, the release said.
The international awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of alumni and showcase the impact and value of a UK higher education, with winners chosen for their entrepreneurial spirit, work to improve lives, or success in science, the arts, or business.
Qualified candidates have the option of competing in either the National or Global round.
Our judges are responsible for selecting the four winners who will represent the international finalists out of 28 global finalists.
Global Alumni Award recipients will also be offered a unique, tailor-made networking visit to the UK to help raise their international profile, network and further their careers. Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, a national ceremony will also be held to celebrate the finalists.
Applications must be received by 16 October 2025.
Bangladesh award winners will be announced in December 2025. The global winners will be revealed in August 2026 and honoured via a digital campaign that features their incredible stories and achievements.

It’s also a reminder of the long-term value of a UK education globally. It’s great to see such a diverse array of submissions in various vibrant categories, especially in Science and Sustainability, Culture, Creativity and Sport, Social Action, Business, and Innovation. I feel that engaging with this experience will serve as a source of inspiration for them to take pride and believe in their own journey and the impact they have made and are making on the world around us. They surely motivate future generations to do likewise, striving towards creating positive change in society.”
The award last year drew over 1,300 applications from international UK alumni based in the UK, representing almost 100 countries worldwide.
More than 650 guests attended the national event in Dhaka in February 2025, which celebrated winners and finalists representing a diverse range of professions and nationalities.
Continuing its pursuit, the British Council is pleased to announce applications for the 12th edition, aiming to celebrate the achievements of alumni and showcase their impact on a global level in the industries in which they are engaged, bringing about innovation and serving as effective leaders in communities worldwide.
The Study UK Alumni Awards are a widely acclaimed and unique opportunity to honour the success of UK-educated alumni.
