Tisha, Shuvoo to grace TIFF with ‘Mujib’

The highly-anticipated film “Mujib: The Making of a Nation” is set to screen at the prestigious 48th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), with lead actors Arifin Shuvoo and Nusrat Imrose Tisha flying to Toronto to attend the event.

Mohammad Golam Azam, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, confirmed the news to the media.

This cinematic masterpiece, which delves into the remarkable life of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, is directed by eminent Indian filmmaker Shyam Benegal.

‘Mujib’ receives an uncut censor certificate.

In this Bangladesh-India joint production, Arifin Shuvoo plays the pivotal role of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, while Nusrat Imrose Tisha brilliantly portrays Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib.

The movie’s much-anticipated screening will mark its first appearance on the global stage. The festival is scheduled to take place from September 7-17 in Toronto, Canada.

Following its premiere at the festival, the movie is expected for a theatrical release between September and December. As a cross-border collaboration, the film will simultaneously hit screens in both Bangladesh and India.
