Shahidul Haque Khan died

Noted filmmaker, lyricist, journalist and playwright Shahidul Haque Khan breathed last 19 April at 11 pm at his residence (Innah lilah wa innah elahi rajiun). The National Film Award winner was 74 at the time of his passing.

According to media reports, the director had cancer.

Shahidul Haque debuted as a director in 1973 with the film “Chhutir Phande” based on Samaresh Basu’s novel. The director also won the National Film Award for best lyrics with this film.

“Kothay Sejon” was aired on BTV in 1994, and it was the first tele-fiction directed by him.
