Restaurant owner beaten up, case against Soham

The owner of a restaurant has accused Soham Chakraborty, an actor and member of the Legislative Assembly for the Trinamool Congress from Chandipur in West Bengal, of beating him. The restaurant owner, Anisul Alam, complained about the actor in the Calcutta High Court five days after the incident. Justice Amrita Sinha of the High Court has received the application and agreed to consider it promptly.

Anandabazar, in a report, indicated that Anisul had informed the police about his feelings of insecurity. Subsequently, he submitted a plea to the Calcutta High Court, seeking protection for his life and urging for an unbiased investigation into the assault he endured.

According to Anisul’s counsel, Soham was purportedly making threats against Anisul, who is the proprietor of a restaurant, as well as his family. Despite complaining to the authorities, Anisul escalated the issue by pursuing legal action.
