Rasel Ahmed, a legendary Bangladeshi dancer, perpetually enthrals audiences globally. Due to his dedication and talent, Rasel has emerged as one of the country’s most proficient and diverse dancers.
Rasel Ahmed’s passion for dance began at the age of five. He studied traditional Bangla folk dance, Kathak, Bharatanatyam, and contemporary dance under the instruction of Shibli Mohammad, Shamim Ara Nipa, and Sharmila Banerjee. In recognition of his diligence, he received the National Children’s Award for Folk Dance in 2006 and 2008 and for classical dance.
Rasel’s career milestones include victories in Tarana in 2010 and 2011 and finalist status in Channel I SheraNachiye, Bangladesh’s premier dance reality competition, in 2012. In 2014, Rasel choreographed for SheraNachiye, showcasing his dance composition and directing expertise.
Rasel commands respect on stage that transcends his television fame. He participated in the 2020 and 2021 Bangladesh Games, the South Asian Games, and the opening and closing ceremonies of the Father of the Nation’s centenary celebration. He garnered exceptional acclaim at the Bengal Classical Music Festival in 2016 and 2017.
Rasel has represented Bangladesh in cultural exchange programs in more than 14 countries, including Japan, Mexico, France, and India, highlighting the rich heritage of Bangladeshi dance. He instructs dance at NupurNikkon Dance Academy and Nrityanchal Dance Company and motivates aspiring dancers.
