Priyanka Chopra in ‘Heads of State

Priyanka Chopra is a well-known activist who has always stood against injustice. Recently, she collaborated with actors Idris Elba and John Cena on their latest film project, ‘Heads of State’. However, production has stopped due to the ongoing Screen Actors Guild strike.

There is currently a strike declared by the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). The union and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, representing studios such as Walt Disney and Netflix, could not come to a new labour agreement. This strike means that actors are unable to film their work.

According to Bollywood Life, Priyanka cannot work on any film or television project anywhere in the globe because she is a member of SAG-AFTRA. This situation will persist until a new agreement is reached and the strike ends.

In an Instagram post, Priyanka Chopra expressed her support for the ongoing SAG AFTRA strike. On Instagram, the actor wrote, “SAG. AFTRA. Strong. I support my union and coworkers. Together, we construct a better tomorrow.”

The ongoing strike by actors is expected to persist until the end of September. It has been stated that the strike will cause a complete stoppage in the production of films and scripted TV shows in the United States, except for independent projects not subject to union labour agreements.

Many people believe that streaming platforms like Netflix and Prime Video will keep providing locally-produced content in languages like Korean and Indian, even though Hollywood production has stopped.
