The NRB peoples contribute significantly to the nation’s foreign currency reserve, where the economy is growing faster than many nations. However, NRB people face obstacles and difficulties from their families, relatives, neighbours, and government agencies. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina keeps repeating that all NRB peoples are envoys of her government and the nation. The accused in the murder case of NRBs wife in Bhairab of Kishoreganj have not been arrested even today, and the accused, Arif, is out of reach. Staff reports; Hajera Begum, the wife of Md.
Ramiz Uddin, a Saudi NRB of Jagannathpur village of Bhairab police station of Kishoreganj, was brutally killed, but the Bhairab police station has not arrested the five accused in this case. Family members alleged that the main accused in the Julekha murder case, Arif, of the same neighbourhood, passed under the nose of the police, but the accused were kept out of touch. Due to this, the four children of this family suffer from insecurity all the time.
Accused Arif is threatening to withdraw various cases as his father is abroad. The family members are in extreme danger as the mother’s lap is empty. While doing the investigative report, such a picture was seen on the ground. Roksana Akhtar, the daughter of expatriate Ramiz Uddin, the plaintiff in this case, tearfully told reporters that the accused, Arif is a drug addict. Drunkenly demanded chadar from my mother. At that time, when the mother expressed her inability to pay the money, they started kicking and punching the mother mercilessly. When the mother fell to the ground, they ran away. Later the mother was admitted to Al Shefa General Hospital in Bhairab. My mother died during treatment. I demand the arrest and trial of the accused, Arif, through proper investigation.
On the other hand, the investigation officer of this case, SI Alamgir Hossain, said that we have not yet received the autopsy and Bishana reports. If we get it, we will proceed with the main work of the case. In this murder case, the family members said, they demand that the accused, Arif, be arrested quickly, stand in the courtroom, and hanged. When a team of four people visited a family from Dhaka, including an NRB Human Right activities, two journalists plus the chairman of Jeebangari Foundation, philanthropist Nasreen Hira Diamond told this reporter, I strongly condemned this brutal murder and requested the Bhairab police to arrest the killer and bring to justice immediately.
