The date for the biannual election of the Bangladesh Film Artists Association has been confirmed. Samchul Alam, a member of the Appeal Board of the Election Commission of Shilpi Samiti, announced that the election in FDC will take place on April 19. The executive committee meeting of Shilpi Samiti took place recently. The biennial election calendar for the 2024–25 term has been confirmed.
As the election draws near, the excitement and fervour are growing. Several celebrities have already finished their arrangements for the election. Yet, the official announcement on the number of panels and the organising entity has not been made. It has been confirmed that those who were present on the same panel during the 17th biennial election are now absent.
Misha Saudagar-Zayed Khan Parishad had a difficult battle against the Ilyas Kanchan-Nipun team previously, but this upcoming match is expected to be more intense and potentially destructive. Currently, the Kanchan-Nipun group is not taking place. The presidential candidate is being replaced despite being skilled in the role of general secretary. However, Misha Saudagar has stated that he will not run for office alongside Zayed Khan.
Nipun also verified that Ilyas Kanchan was not part of the panel. She expressed a desire to remain with Kanchan Bhai. Kanchan Bhai is reluctant to conduct elections this time owing to various reasons, including concerns related to his organisation. It seems like the Kanchan-Nipun Parishad may not take place this time. We will arrange the panel with someone similar to Kanchan Bhai. There are rumours that Ferdous will be joining Nipun’s panel. Yet, the newly elected parliamentarian stated that he would abstain from the association’s elections.
She stated, “I am abstaining from the election of the artists’ association.” She explained that artists are sorted into different categories during the election process. Conversely, Misha Saudagar is reportedly running in the election with a new team, including Dipzal, despite not running with Zayed Khan.
Misha Saudagar mentioned not selecting Zayed Khan and the new panel with Dipzal. I am a stable individual who prefers to communicate in a straightforward manner. I do not have the opportunity to choose musicians associated with Zayed Khan. If the artists desire it, I am willing to participate in the election. ‘I cannot tell right now if it is with Deepjal Bhai or someone else.’
Misha Saudagar is implying something new by sharing photos on Facebook with Dipzol. Meanwhile, Dipzol has stated that he has no objection to being elected with him. He stated that he had no objection if Misha aspired to be a presidential contender. If I become president as well, he will not object. Let’s now identify the applicant.
