Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) has recently enforced new conditions upon journalists. From now on, they will not be able to randomly enter the premises of BFDC with their cameras. Instead, they will need to take a pass from the authorities to enter the BFDC.
The BFDC Joint Secretary and Director of Administration and Finance, Md Ishan Ali Raja Bangali, confirmed the new rule through a signed order last 17th May.
The official order stated that the decision was taken after a meeting with the stakeholders on 22nd February regarding implementing the Citizen Charter of BFDC.
One of the clauses states that the application fee for making joint production films has been fixed at BDT 300 instead of the previous amount of BDT 250. Another term states that if media personnel want to enter the premises with cameras, they must write an application to the Managing Director of BFDC using their own letterhead pad. For the purpose of maintaining security, gate passes must be issued when entering the premises.
