Indian filmmaker’s documentary on the 1971 genocide

The documentary ‘The Forgotten Genocide’ is based on the genocide and liberation war by the Pakistani invaders in 1971. Indian filmmaker Krishnandu Bose is producing the documentary. He is coming to Dhaka soon for shooting. He is also producing the documentary along with the production. Co-producer is his wife, Madhurima Sen Bose.

In the meantime, the filmmaker has received permission from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to come to Dhaka for shooting. However, for this, a total of 13 conditions have been added, including bringing out correct information without distorting history, avoiding obscenity, and obtaining the approval of the Liberation War Ministry before the Censor Board.

Apart from Krishnendu and Madhurima, UK cinematographer Jeremy Alexander, assistant director Mainak Guha and a team of eight crew are coming to Dhaka to make the documentary.

Before this, Krishnandu became known by producing two documentaries named ‘Harvesting Hunger’ in 2000 and ‘Forgotten Tigers’ in 2014. He has also produced a few documentaries under the banner of his own production Earthcare Films. Krishnandu has also served as a jury member at the National Film Awards of India. His wife Madhurima is also associated with the production company. In addition, Madhurima has produced several TV series.
