Girls have lit up the football game of Bangladesh

The under-15 team, which made its debut eight years ago, laid the groundwork for Bangladesh women’s football. Surbhi-Yarjan, under sixteen, authored a fresh fairy tale in the Himalayan nation. The Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport witnessed a distinct ambience upon the arrival of the Under-16 Women’s SAFF Trophy victorious team against India in Kathmandu on Sunday. He exhibits frenzied behaviour towards girls who are immersed in floral receptions.

While managing the large gathering of fans, supporters, and media personnel, Captain Arpita briefly conveyed her emotions. Upon the conclusion of the formalities, the entire group proceeded to the buffet facility. Girls consistently succeed within a single institution. Girls have achieved a remarkable feat in the country’s football by winning eight titles in the SAFF Championship over the past eight years, encompassing age-wise and senior teams. However, the boys’ national football team has been without a trophy for over twenty years.

They remain nearby for an extended period of time. Collectively, the morning commenced at the residential camp known as Bafufe Bhavan. Subsequently, the individuals proceed collectively towards the artificial grass, or Kamalapur Stadium, to engage in practice. The emergence of the women’s football team in Bangladesh can be described as follows: The attainment of success is contingent upon many endeavours and meticulous strategizing, which commenced in 2017 with the triumph of the under-15 clean sheet. The tournament resulted in the emergence of footballers like Monika Chakma, Maria Manda, and Tahura Khatun, who have since been significant members of the national side. Footballers are advancing individually along the path indicated by them.

Most football players in this age group in Nepal were of Ankora descent. Except for Surbhi, there needs to be more experience in international football. However, that team emerged victorious following their victory over India. Bangladesh has secured its second championship in the Kishori event.

Bangladesh consistently emerges as the preferred participant in age-based competitions organised by SAFF. Nevertheless, seven years elapsed between Kishori Safe’s triumph in the inaugural and subsequent championships. The red-green team emerged as the victor in the girls’ age division, earning all the awards. In 2022, Sabina Khatunra won the senior clear event, completing the circle. Before and after that, the girls had the opportunity to touch the prestigious golden trophy of the age-determined SAFF.

The red-green girls emerged as champions in the Dhaka under-19 competition this year, as well as in the under-18 competitions of 2018 and 2021 and the under-20 competition of 2023. Bangladesh finished second in the under-17 tournament last year. The champion was Russia, a non-Saaf country.
