The 77th Cannes Film Festival has invited Sadia Khalid Riti, a cinema critic and screenwriter from Bangladesh, to serve as a member of the fipresque jury. Because of this, he will be a member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival starting on May 14th. The event will continue from now until May 25th. Sadia was a member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival earlier in 2019, which just took place.
Following completion of her script studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, in the United States, Sadia Khalid participated as a member of the jury at several film festivals in countries including Italy, India, England, Nepal, France, Russia, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. In addition, he has served as a member of the Fipreski Jury at the Dhaka International Film Festival, the Kerala International Film Festival, and the Bangalore International Film Festival, all celebrated in India.
In 2022, Sadia Khalid, who hails from Bangladesh and works as a film reviewer, was honoured with the Golden Globe Award for International Franchise. In 2020, the Berlinale Talents competition selected him to represent Bangladesh as a film critic. Additionally, he participated in the mentorship programmes in which Film Independent and Locarno Open Doors were involved.
