After more than a year, the new song of the third season of Coke Studio Bangla has been released. The song titled Baji is written by Hashim Mahmud, also known as Sada Sada Kala Kala. He also gave voice to the song along with Emon Chowdhury. The music was arranged by Emon Chowdhury. They are seen in the video of the song.
The song Baji, written by Hashim Mahmud, depicts the heart-touching story of an ordinary woman’s unearthly, charming, innocent and tender love. The song features a blend of voices and melodies from various parts of Bangladesh. With Emon Chowdhury’s music arrangement, this song further highlights diverse folk music, the sweetness of musical instruments of small ethnic groups, and folk art full of vitality.
The traditional Dhua song group of Tangail, famous for singing and dancing in a circle, is also seen in the song. They are carrying a unique cultural heritage that has been cherished for more than a century. The sound of the baji is further enriched by flute player Kyo U Pru Marma and his grandmother Mrakoiching Marma. Mrakoiching has sung the song in the Marma language.
Emon Chowdhury said, this song is another part of the song Katha Kayo. It can be said that Baji is the answer to the song Katha Kayo. Katha Kayo is from the girl’s point of view. And this song is the boy’s answer to the girl’s words. Mymensingh lyrics were added to the earlier song. This time we have tuned a song by Jalal Uddin Khan and added it to the genre of Dhoa.
Emon Chowdhury also said, our plan was to show the entire face of Bangladesh in this song. Watching the song, it seems that this is Bangladesh. The lyrics of the song, along with the mountains, sea, rivers, plains, the melody, dance, visuals – all of them are such a harmonious combination, where the image of Bangladesh has been captured together.
Baji Coke is the fourth song of the third season of Studio Bangla. The last song, Abak Bhalobasha, was released in May last year. The band performed the song in a modern style on War phase’s 40th anniversary.
