Cinebuzz Presents ‘Pori Lost in Dhaka’

A Gripping Short Film on Child Trafficking Awareness

Cinebuzz, a production house known for its socially conscious storytelling, has recently released its latest short film, Pori Lost in Dhaka. This profoundly moving narrative brings to light the harsh realities of child trafficking while emphasizing the emotional turmoil of parents who lose their child in an unfamiliar city.

The film follows a couple and their eight-year-old daughter, Pori, who leave their village searching for a better future in Dhaka. Their journey begins with hope but quickly becomes a nightmare when, upon arriving at Tejgaon railway station at 7 AM, Pori disappears in the overwhelming crowd.

Panic sets in as the desperate parents search frantically, enlisting the help of the station expert and concerned bystanders. Despite their relentless efforts, there is no trace of Pori. With no other option, they approach the local police station, only to receive a grim response: “Cases like this often involve child trafficking. We will try our best to find your daughter.”

Days turn into weeks and weeks into months. The parents remain trapped in anguish, uncertainty, and dwindling hope. Their journey is not just one of searching for Pori but also of confronting the painful reality of a society where countless children vanish, often without a trace.

With Pori Lost in Dhaka, Cinebuzz aims to shed light on the increasing cases of child trafficking and the immense suffering endured by families. The film serves as a call to action, urging viewers to be vigilant, compassionate, and initiative taking in preventing such tragedies.

Through this production, Cinebuzz delivers a compelling cinematic experience and takes a bold step toward social awareness, reinforcing the urgent need for stricter measures to protect children from such heinous crimes.

The search for Pori continues, but the message of Pori Lost in Dhaka resonates beyond the screen reminding us of all to stand against child trafficking and safeguard the innocence of our future generations.

Director’s Perspective: While this story arises from the specific context of Bangladesh, it reflects a pervasive issue that transcends national boundaries a global concern that affects millions. Each day, unthinkable numbers of children disappear, often without a trace, and tragically, a vast majority of these cases remain unsolved, leaving families in despair and turmoil.

Our primary objective with this narrative is to illuminate the stark realities of child abductions and missing children, raising awareness about the precarious situations that can lead to such heartbreaking circumstances. We aim to equip parents with the necessary knowledge and protective measures to safeguard their children, especially those relocating from rural communities to urban centres. These transitions can expose children to unfamiliar environments where they may be more vulnerable to various dangers.

We express our most profound compassion for the countless parents who have faced the unimaginable pain of losing a child. Our hearts go out to them as we share their stories and struggles. In times of such distress, we earnestly pray to the Almighty, hoping for their children’s safe return and for strength and solace for the families who continue to search for their missing loved ones. We hope that through this awareness, we can foster a greater sense of vigilance and care in communities worldwide.
