Bangladesh’s first IIA university is Brac University

Brac Business School is preparing to offer IIA-affiliated courses and provide free IIA membership to its students.

Brac University has received distinction as the first university in Bangladesh to achieve “academic affiliate” status from the Internal Audit Academic Alliance (IIA) program, recognising academic institutions’ internal audit education efforts.

Additionally, Nausheen Ahmed was appointed as the “Academic Alliance Coordinator” for the IIA Global and Brac University.

It was announced on August 26, and this sponsorship will allow the university to utilise grants, resources, materials and a network of educators at more than 150 colleges and universities in partnership with the association, along with global accreditations that support its internal audit education.

Brac University’s Brac Business School is in the process of offering IIA courses and delivering free IIA membership to its students as part of their professional preparation, with an eye on the world market.

Accepting into the programme also advances United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by equipping them with skills that underpin financial and professional success.

The IIA and the Internal Audit Foundation created the program to recognise universities that educate students about a career in internal audit by incorporating an element of internal audit study in their curriculum.

Now a century after its 1941 founding, IIA remains the pre-eminent global voice and leader in promoting the profession of internal auditing through education, research, and professional development.
