Despite their efforts, Nigar Sultana’s team faced challenges against the Lankans, mainly due to their batting performance not meeting expectations.
The Bangladeshi girls faced a challenging match and lost 33 runs. Sri Lanka, batting first, scored 143 runs in twenty overs. The Bangladesh team reached a moderate target, finishing at 110 runs.
Sri Lanka scored 143 runs in their twenty overs, losing seven wickets while batting first in Dubai. Hasini Perera achieved the highest score with 43 runs.
Swarna Akhtar stood out as the only player to reach two wickets, while the other players contributed by taking one wicket each.
In response, Bangladesh scored 110 runs, losing nine wickets throughout twenty overs. Nigar Sultana Jyoti, the team captain, scored the highest runs with 30, while the other players had limited contributions. The Bangladeshi side will play an extra warm-up match as part of their preparation. In the final warm-up game, set for Monday, they will represent Pakistan.
Bangladesh will play its first World Cup match against Scotland on October 3.
