The biennial general election of the Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association took place last 30 December at BFDC. Kazi Hayat has been elected as the new president while Shahin Sumon has become the general secretary.
Kazi Hayat-Shahin Sumon’s panel won the general election for the 2023-24 term against Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar-Zakir Hossain Raju panel. Chief Election Commissioner Abdul Latif Bachchu announced the results at 12.20 pm after accumulating the final result by counting off the votes.
Here are the names of the members who won the following candidacy.
Chatku Ahmed (Vice President), Kabirul Islam Rana (Deputy Secretary General), Selim Azam (Treasurer),Shahin Kabir Tutul (Organizational Secretary), Noor Mohammad Moni (Information Technology Secretary), Abdur Rahim Babu (Cultural and Action Secretary), Wazed Ali Bablu (Promotion Publications and Bureau).
Elected as Executive Members:
Mostafizur Rahman Manik, Maria Afrin Tusar, Habibur Rahman Habib, SD Rubel, Bazlur Rashed, Palli Malek, Iftekhar Jahan, Shahadat Hossain Liton, and Sohanur Rahman Sohan.
There were 368 total voters in this year’s election of Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association,among which 302 directors voted.
A S M Shafiqur Rahman and B H Nishan carried out the duties of election commissioners.
