Bangladesh defeat Thailand 4-1

After failing to realise their target of qualifying for the semifinals, Bangladesh ensured they would at least finish in sixth place in the AHF Junior Asia Cup after handing a 4-1 defeat to Thailand in the 5th-8th place-deciding match in Salalah on last 30 May.

Bangladesh took only one minute to break the deadlock as Ali struck from open play before Amirul doubled the lead in the 17th minute by converting from a penalty corner.

Thailand showed character to come back in the game in the 18th minute, with Kritsana converting a penalty corner.

However, Mamunur Rashid’s charges restored their lead one next minute later, with Hasan scoring from open play. Hossain then completed the rout three minutes from time by converting a third penalty corner.
