After the change in the political situation in the country, pro-Awami showbiz stars have come under a lot of pressure. After acting in the movie ‘Mujib: Ekti Jatir Ropakar’, some artists have had to face a lot of criticism. One of them is Nusrat Faria.
Faria opened for the first time about the criticism she endured after playing the role of Sheikh Hasina in the movie. She said, “I want to say, there is nothing to regret here. We artists wake up at 5:30 am and work until late at night. A lot of physical effort goes behind it. For this movie, from 2019 to 2023, I have maintained myself with the same look for these 5 years. I did not dye my hair; I went around with black hair for this character. I had to be within a certain amount of physical weight. In short, I want to say, I have given 5 long years of my life for this movie. As a result, if I regret that work, then my profession will be insulted.
Faria said about the situation at that time, when my name came up in the movie, especially for the character of Sheikh Hasina, the whole of Bangladesh congratulated me. And now the situation is different. The whole of Bangladesh is pointing fingers at me. Artists don’t have a chance to think about it before doing a character. I will say, I don’t have the power that the government will ask me to do a character, and I will say ‘no’ to it. I am the daughter of a middle-class family.
She also said, I think the situation I went through or am still going through for this movie was written in my destiny. I didn’t have the power to refute it.
Faria said that even though She was in Canada during the student movement, she was on the side of the students. Proof of this can be found by looking at social media.
