After stunning the audience again with her marvellous performance as Queen Nandini in the Tamil historical thriller film, “Ponniyin Selvan 1”, Aishwarya Rai is now set to appear in portraying a dual role in the second part of the Moni Ratnum directorial film.
The actor recently attended a promotional event for “Ponniyin Selvan 2” last 24 April in Mumbai. She was asked to compare her role as Queen Nandini with her character Nandini in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s iconic film, “Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam”.
She expressed her amazement at a wonderful coincidence and her gratitude for the opportunity to portray Nandini. This character has remained memorable to both herself and the audience. She played Nandini in two movies, first in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ with Sanjay Bhansali and now in ‘Ponniyan Selvan’ with Mani Garu. She considers it a tremendous blessing to play strong, multidimensional women whose characters have a relatable impact on many women’s lives.
