However, he broke this unwritten rule in the case of ‘Barbaad’. On the night of April 21, Shakib appeared at the movie ‘Barbaad’ special show. There, the Dhallywood superstar expressed his excitement about the success of the movie.
Shakib said, “If I go around the hall, the audience might be unable to watch the movie properly. They might see me, the media might come, they might get busy with all these things. They might miss many important scenes of the movie. I never want that. Instead, I sit at home and watch reviews. But this is an exception. This is the first movie in my career that has a midnight show. We have heard that in South Indian films, midnight shows start in the early morning hours. But I have never seen anything like this in Bengali movies before.
Shakib Khan has set a record with ‘Barbaad’. The film directed by Mehdi Hasan Hridoy has received a good response from the country and abroad. However, Shakib is dreaming bigger this time. Shakib said, ‘Toofan’ did good business last year, and this year ‘Barbaad’ is doing even better. The movies that will come will do even bigger business.’
This time, his dream is to do one hundred crores. Like Bollywood, Shakib hopes his movies will join the 100-crore club in the future.
Citing an example, the filmmaker said, “In our neighbouring country’s industry, a movie did business of 100 crores in a week, which was a big deal for them at that time. But those who made the movie’s goal was one thousand crores. Now, it is seen that if it does not reach the one thousand crore club, they do not declare the movie a superhit. So, our journey has begun. Hopefully, we can go much further.
Shakib Khan also hints that after ‘Barbaad,’ director Hridoy and production company Real Energy Production plan another movie with Shakib. King Khan said, this time they have devised such a script that ‘Barbaad’ might seem like a tiny movie.
