After a debate, snap a poll

Trump and Harris are vying for the presidency

According to a snap poll conducted following Tuesday evening’s debate at ABC News, here is where things stand in the Kamala Harris v. Donald Trump presidential campaign as of today:

According to a CNN flash poll by SSRS, about 44% of registered voters who watched the ABC News debate said that Harris better understands what is going on in the minds of everyday Americans these days.

By comparison, 45 percent of adults said they had a “good” opinion following the debate, an increase from 39 points before Harris and her competitors set foot on stage.

After the chat, 44% of registered voters still saw her in a less favorable light. Read the full post. Show less.

Prior to the debate, nationwide averages of polls reveal a slight advantage for Harris, who is maintaining an average 2.8-point lead over Trump.

The vice president has also been on the rise since late July, with a knock-on effect that damaged even though Trump’s percentage increasingly neared opposition as of last week.

But even with a friendlier rating, Harris struggles to sell the economy.

A snap poll showed that 55% thought Trump would better manage the economy than Harris, with just 35% disagreeing.

After viewing the debate, most voters said their vote had not changed at all.
